Semester projects in a bigger context
Students participate in the AAU Megaprojects with their usual semester projects. THe megaprojects is the sum of many different semester projects from a wide variety of disciplines. Thus, students still work within the frame of specific learning objectives and curriculum adhering to their own discipline. In turn, the students gain new perspectives on their projects and a broader context in which to place them.
HOW TO get your students into a megaproject
As a supervisor, you can encourage students to take part in megaprojects. You can also create project proposals that fit into a challenge under one of the existing megaprojects, or help your students adapt their project to fit into a megaproject.
For students to become part of a megaproject, they must submit a project proposal. They will then be placed in cluster of groups under the individual challenge. The clusters are made with interdisciplinarity and difference in perspectives in mind.
Please note that the deadline for submitting project proposals is early for certain programmes. This applies primarily to programmes in social sciences and humanities.
YOUR JOB AS A SUPERVISOR
As a supervisor on a project that is part of a megaproject, your task is not very different from regular semester projects. Thus, you do not need to allocate extra time for the megaproject, but feel free to support the activities of the megaprojects:
- Start-up, mid-term and end-term seminars
- The megaproject conference
